Corporate Social Responsiblility
CSR has emerged as a business approach for addressing the social & environmental impact of company activities. Mostly, companies from the oil & gas sector have been at the centre of CSR development. Our Company, SMART Technical Services, also stands as a responsible corporate citizen and being good neighbors for the communities, we are working with. We always strive to balance our business objectives with the need to the well-being of the society.
SMART has over the years fruitfully initiated in CSR activities in Myanmar and supported various social communities. Now, there is a non-profit organization team lead by our SMART’s employee that takes in lead row of the CSR activities in Yangon. So, we hope to inspire our partners and stakeholders to be a part of our ongoing commitment to make a difference in the millions of lives we come in contact with daily.

Our Activities
- Ray of Hope participates to support in areas to develop Myanmar’s education, health, social welfare, and environment saving.
- Educating awareness about good safety practice for personal and professional life.
- Raising relief funds and supporting care for victims of natural disasters in Myanmar.
EDUCATION
Ray of Hope assists the student for Youth Internship Program, an annual campaign where 20 outstanding students from local Universities in Yangon are awarded a 3- months training program at SMART. Ray of Hope also has a Scholarship program to support university students studying in related Petroleum &Engineering fields, who need financial support. Ray of Hope assists in running tutoring programs and donating books or stationary supplies to necessary schools. One frequent program Ray of Hope hosts is a regular tutoring class to the Nun Orphanage in Yankin,.The Nun Orphanage has 130 nunnery students.
HEALTH
Ray of Hope led a generous annual blood donation activity (Life Savers) to contribute blood donation at Public and General Hospitals in Myanmar. Ray of Hope regularly co-organizes with Ananda Myanmar Myittar Foundation, one of the nonprofit organizations formed by doctors to give medical knowledge and treatment to all the families in the rural community.
SOCIAL WAREFARE
Ray of Hope publishes Safety Awareness Videoas a campaign of educational short safety movies, which was filmed for training public schools, local communities and corporate organizations. The movies include public awareness about good safety work practices in an operational working environment as well as personal habits of safety practice. Part of the social community plan, Ray of Hope provides solar lamps to families in rural areas with little to no access to electricity. Ray of Hope donated a library, located outside of Yangon, with 250 books and 20 lakhs kyats for the purpose of students to have learning access to books.
ENVIRONMENT
On World Environment Day 5th June, Ray of Hope annually plants trees with the SMART Group of Companies Employees in various places including (i.e MOGE Jetty compound, Rehabilitation Center, Nautical Institute, General Labor Hospital Compound, Co-operative University, etc).
Ray of Hope co-operates annually with partners for picking up trash and recycling plastic usage in Myanmar. In 2019, Ray of Hope participated together with Royal Haskoning and Yangon City Development Committee to clean the Yangon River by picking up trash.
